Well you clicked it... so it's definitely a conversation starter and by now it's a teachable moment. Perhaps you are wondering what are the letters on the top right?

They are the Hebrew letters Beis (Bet) and Hey with two apostrophes ('striechels' in the yiddish language) in between. It stands for בעזרת השם with the help of Hashem - G-D Almighty or ברוך השם which means Blessed is Hashem - G-D Almighty.

Why? Well Hashem is a partner in every part of my life. Including livelihood (which He provides) and talent (which He gifts). By placing the ב''ה in the top right corner it serves to remind me that Hashem is part of this and it is by His grace that I find success. It also serves as a blessing, i.e. that Hashem should be involved and thereby bless the endeavor.

Is this a law? Must I do this? It is not a law it is a custom which originated with pious people (dating back to the 15th century) writing it on all correspondence. Today some include it in their emails or on their websites. Chassdic artist Michoel Muchnik paints ב''ה or בס''ד on every canvas or picture he works on.

Note: some write ב''ה while others write בס''ד which stands for the Aramaic phrase "Bisyata Dishmaya" which means "with the help of heaven." Both are acceptable.
